North Korea Successfully Tests Missile

North Korea today successfully tested two missiles. One traveled 249 miles and accurately fell into the waters east of the coast. It also entered space. The other traveled 93 miles and was quickly deemed a failure by South Korea. The impact of this is quite clear: North Korea may possibly now have the technology to strike the United States or North Korea’s neighbors.

Venezuela has recently been rocked by public outcry against President Nicolas Maduro and his socialist programs. Basic necessities such as food and toilet paper have become scarce, and inflation is skyrocketing. Price controls have caused a black market to spring up. This is a prime example of why states must become self-sufficient before they realize a socialist system. They must ensure that there will be enough food and goods for the people while at the same time bringing the means of production under government control.
